Multi Jeunesse
In partnership with Ville de Gatineau, we are proud to announce the all-new Multi Jeunesse bus pass for high school students aged 12 to 17 living and/or attending a school in Gatineau.
Free access is back for the summer!
Starting June 20, the Multi Jeunesse card gives you unlimited free rides at all times until school resumes.
Keep your Multi Jeunesse card until the end of high school
- The Multi Jeunesse card remains valid throughout your secondary studies, so you must keep it until you finish high school.
Lost your card?
Visit a Service Point with your student ID. A $10 fee applies.
Starting middle school in September?
- Your new school will hand you your Multi Jeunesse card as soon as classes begin.
- Want to travel on your own before September? Visit a Service Point with proof of Gatineau residency and high-school enrollment: we’ll activate free access on a personalized Multi card.
Reminder
Youth aged 12 and under already travel for free when accompanied by a fare-paying passenger.
Free access at certain times of the year
- Free access during the 2025-2026 school year:
- after 5 p.m. on school days;
- anytime on weekends, holidays and school breaks.

The option of adding a monthly membership and the e-wallet
If you want to take the bus outside the free access times (befor 5 p.m. school days), your have to pay your trip. You can add on your card money and use it as an e-wallet or add a monthly membership.
Loading your card
Register your card with Customer Service at 819-770-3242 so you can load it online (e-wallet only) or protect its contents in case of loss.
You can also load it at several service points.
Integrated transportation for eligible students
It can be used as a bus pass for students who have access to integrated transportation, and is valid at all times. Schedules for transportation to secondary schools are available for the 2024-2025 school year at page High school transportation.
How do I get a Multi Jeunesse?
Students aged 12 to 17 from Gatineau attending a Gatineau middle school or high school
- You will receive it at your (Gatineau) school on the first days of your entry into Secondary 1.
12 to 17 year-old Gatineau students attending high school outside Gatineau, home schooling or attending an adult school
- If you would like to take advantage of the free pass, you can get a free personalized Multi card any time at an STO service point. You will have to provide proof of residence in Gatineau and your 2024-2025 student card.
How does it work?
- Simply swipe your card over the reader when you get on the bus, even if the fare is $0 during allotted times.
- You can use the STO regular system, the paratransit service and STO on demand, as well as OC Transpo.
- To use Transcollines, you will need a Transcollines pass. They do not accept the Multi Jeunesse pass.
