Renew your student status for the Multi card before September 30

Students aged 12 to 20

If you use the e-wallet on your Multi card or if you already have a student or a ZAP monthly pass, head over to any STO service point to renew the student status of your Multi card. Be sure to bring your proof of full-time enrolment for the 2023-2024 school year. There is no charge for this renewal.

High school students enrolled in the STO's school transportation program

You will receive your Multi card at school at the start of the year. It will already be programmed for the 2023-2024 school year and will be valid 7 days a week. Consult the integrated school routes page.

College and university students

Cam-Puce passes can be purchased at any STO service point. Your student status will be renewed at the same time. Check out the different passes.

Info for high school students

Certain schools offer school transportation with the STO (integrated school routes)

Agreements have been signed with a few educational institutions to provide transportation for eligible students. It is up to each institution to indicate which students will be eligible, and to provide them with a Multi card.

New for the 2023-2024 school year: only those students whose school provides them school transportation with the STO will receive a Multi card.

Students who are not eligible for school transportation program with the STO

You are not eligible if you live within walking distance from your school, your school does not have an agreement with us, or any other reason indicated by the school service centre or the school.

You can always buy a membership or load money onto a Multi card to use public transit at the student fare. Go to any STO service point with your student card or proof of school enrolment for the 2023-2024 school year.

Pay as you go in lieu of paper tickets and cash. Can be used at any time on STO buses, and includes transfers to OC Transpo for up to two hours.

Cam-Puce passes for college and university student

For full-time college and university students, there is the Cam-Puce pass. Discount fare passes are sold for each session (fall and winter)!

Cégep de l'Outaouais Cam-Puce pass

$228 for the semester (4 months).

Sale period ended. Extended until September 29 for the continuing education.

Validity from August 15 to December 31, 2023.

  • Available exclusively to Cégep de l'Outaouais students.
  • Designed for frequent riders.
  • Available with a personalized Multi card.
  • The student number must appear on the list of full-time students deemed eligible by Cégep de l'Outaouais.

  • your Cégep de l'Outaouais student card or student number ;
  • your Cégep de l'Outaouais course schedule for the semester*;

Heritage College Cam-Puce pass

$238 for the semester (4 months).

STO Cam-Puce pass

$315 for 4 months (equivalent to $78.75 per month).

On sale from August 15 to September 30, 2023.

Validity from September 1 to December 31, 2023.

  • Offered to all students aged 20 or over on September 1 who are full-time;
  • Designed for frequent riders.
  • Available with a personalized Multi card.

To purchase this pass, go to any service point during the enrolment period with:

  • proof* that you are a full-time student for the semester in an educational institution recognized by Quebec's ministère de l'Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport;
  • your Multi card, if you have one; and
  • your full payment.

* Your course schedule for the semester is deemed acceptable proof. You student card for your educational institution is not.

OC Transpo U-Pass: For students living in Quebec

2023-2024 semesters

If you are studying at the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Saint Paul University or Algonquin College during the school year, you are eligible to get the OC Transpo U Pass. 

This pass is accepted on the STO and OC Transpo systems without restrictions from September 1, to April 30 and during the summer session if you are registered as a full-time student. The U-Pass is exclusively for full-time students registered at these academic institutions.

IMPORTANT: You must update your “Mailing Address” in your student file (place of residence during the school year) at your academic institution.

The U-Pass is on a smart card, so you must tap your card on the reader when you board the bus and then show the photo side of your card to the driver.

How to get the OC Transpo U-Pass

You already have a U-Pass smart card? Keep it and skip the lineup!

Your smart card can be used again for the following school year or for the summer session. Simply go to an automatic recharging unit for this purpose on your institution's campus. Make sure to find out the dates for recharging your card!

New students
