2024 fares: The fares for 2024 was approved by the STO Board of Directors on October 26, 2023. Those new fares awill be effective on January 1, 2024. See the press release (in French).

Regular fares

These Multi cards are reloadable, keep them!

To protect the environment, we want to encourage you to load and reuse your non-personalized Multi card (e-wallet or 1, 3 or 7 consecutive day pass).

A fee of 2$ applies for every new non-personalized Multi card to prevent these plastic cards from being wasted.
 
When you load your card at your usual point of sale or at any of the more than 50 participating businesses in Gatineau, you are not required to pay that fee.

E-Wallet

$3.80 per trip

Load money on your Multi card, no expiry date.    

  • Designed for occasional use;
  • More economical than cash or ticket: $3.80 instead of $4.25;
  • Electronic payment each trip;
  • Available on personalized or non-personalized Multi card:
     
  • Add between $10 and $110.
  • Load once a month :
  • Valid on OC Transpo. Initial validation must be on an STO bus;
  • Allows transfers for up to two (2) hours after the initial validation.

*Non-personalized Multi cards are transferable. They can be shared, but they cannot be used by more than one person on any given trip.

 

One-day pass

$7.75 ($2 additionnal fees for every new card purchased)

Unlimited use over 24 consecutive hours following initial validation.

  • Designed for occasional use.
  • Pick up and load at:
  • Valid on OC Transpo. Initial validation must be on an STO bus;
  • Transferable, but only to someone not traveling at the same time.

 

Three-day pass

$21.75 ($2 additionnal fees for every new card purchased)

Unlimited use over 72 consecutive hours following initial validation.

  • Designed for occasional use.
  • Pick up and load at:
  • Valid on OC Transpo. Initial validation must be on an STO bus;
  • Transferable, but only to someone not traveling at the same time.

 

Seven-day pass

$37.25 ($2 additionnal fees for every new card purchased)

Unlimited use over 168 consecutive hours following initial validation.

  • Designed for occasional use.
  • Pick up and load at:
  • Valid on OC Transpo. Initial validation must be on an STO bus; 
  • Transferable, but only to someone not traveling at the same time.

 

Ticket

$4.25 per ticket

Cash payment

$4.25 per trip

Transfers

Do you need to take more than one bus to get to your destination?

  • When paying your fare (cash or ticket), ask the driver for a transfer.
  • Transfers are valid for up to two hours* calculated from the time the bus leaves the terminus on the current trip
  • During those two hours, you can board any bus without having to pay again.

Validity on OC Transpo

STO transfers are valid on OC Transpo buses and on the O-Train during that two-hour* window.
To board an O-Train, scan the QR code at one of the fare gates at the station.


Validity on Transcollines

A $2.00 supplement is required.

 

 

ECHO fares

E-Wallet

$2.70 per trip

Load money on your Multi card, no expiry date.    

  • Reduced fare pass for Gatineau residents whose annual income is below the low income threshold: $2.70 instead of $3.80.
  • Designed for occasional use;
  • Electronic payment each trip;
  • Available on personalized Multi card:
     
  • Load once a month :
  • Valid on OC Transpo;
  • Allows transfers for up to two (2) hours after the initial validation.

* The student must be aged 20 or under as of September 1st of the current year.

Child and family fares

Children aged 12 and under

All the time

Children aged 12 and under travel free when accompanied by a rider who is paying their fare.

Children travelling alone: children who are old enough and independent can travel alone as long as they pay a student fare for 12 to 20 year-olds, a monthly pass or an e-wallet.
