Open House at the new Centre d'entretien et d'exploitation

A Resounding Success

The weather was good for our family activity on June 3 that was part of Gatineau Week 2017. More than 2,200 visitors were greeted with open arms by over 30 dedicated employees who enthusiastically presented the various stations to be explored.

Our maintenance ambassadors explained their work to the general public, giving both young and old a chance to get a closer look at the legendary bus wash while also learning more about what goes on behind the scenes to manage a bus system and bus fleet.

Countless smiling children took turns to get their photo taken in front of bus 7901 with its odometer at close to 1.5 million kilometres, or the equivalent of 36 trips around the Earth.

It was a day that boosted the visibility of a great team and enabled the public to see the modern facilities in Gatineau's east end that were made to measure for maintaining the buses and allowing the STO to deliver quality service while pursuing its growth over the coming years.

Thank you for coming!
