Study for an Efficient Public Transit System in Gatineau's West End

Project description

The purpose of the study for an efficient transit system in Gatineau's west end, carried out for the Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO), is to identify the transit system that will best meet the travel needs of residents in the western part of Gatineau and contribute to the city's development based on the vision of the land use plan.

The study has now been completed. The consultation process, conducted through focus groups, a public forum, an online questionnaire and two information sessions, helped to collect insightful comments, in particular on the parameters to use for evaluating the service scenarios – one of the strategic components of the study. The STO would like to thank the many residents who took part in the consultation. The STO would also like to highlight the importance and relevance of their contribution in the course of this study. The study recommendations and findings are currently first being included in presentations to the STO's different political and financial partners. Once this process has been completed, the full consultation report will be released and made available on sto.ca as soon as the final report has been submitted.
