Students who walk to École secondaire de l'Île

All students at École secondaire de l'Île who are currently considered to be walkers will be eligible for an STO pass to return home in the afternoon.

These students will have free access to the STO's regular bus system between 5 and 8 p.m. on school days.

Starting Tuesday, October 9, students will be able to activate their card directly at school. To do this, they simply need to have their student card with them.

The Customer Relations team is available to answer your questions and assist you through theses changes. You can reach the information agents at 819-770-3242.

Use Plani-Bus to check the schedule and route for the bus route that takes you to your school. You can also create a personalized itinerary for your other trips.

Frequently asked questions

Rearranging these schedules is complex and the team is still working on the details of the schedule changes.

Below are some responses to the questions received:

1. What is integrated transportation for students?

Contrary to a school bus that is assigned exclusively for the transportation of students, a trip on integrated transportation serves more than just schools. Students have access to the STO's regular system, which, depending on need, is enhanced with routes dedicated to one school.

2. Why not bring the student transportation schedule forward?

A bus making a student trip has usually just completed a trip assigned to a regular bus route. Bringing the schedule forward for such a bus would cause earlier trips to be cancelled.

3. Why can buses arriving at Mont-Bleu at 8 a.m. not arrive at École secondaire de l'Île before 8:15 a.m.?

The trips to École secondaire Mont Bleu scheduled for 8 a.m. will all be redirected to École secondaire de l'Île. The travel time will be longer, but will still enable us to guarantee an arrival at 8:15 a.m. for all students.

See the routes and schedules.

4. Why not use the buses that went to École secondaire de l'Île to provide service for Mont-Bleu students?

Trips will be added given that about 400 students who walked to Mont-Bleu will now be taken by the STO, and some of these buses will be used for their transportation.
Furthermore, because classes at École secondaire de l'Île start at 8:40 a.m. and those bus trips ran later than the buses going to Mont Bleu, they do not offer a meaningful make up option.

Please note that there is no change
for these schools
**

Every year, the Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) makes agreements with academic institutions to provide specific services for eligible students in order to take them to these schools. It is up to each academic institution to indicate which students are eligible. These students then receive a Multi pass..

The passes given to students who are eligible for transportation is valid on school days until 5 p.m*.
