Dedicated Rapibus Web sites recognized

The STO received an award of recognition from the Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ) for its two dedicated Rapibus Web sites.
The award, handed out in Saguenay at the Association’s annual conference, acknowledges the quality of these two interactive information tools created as part of a major project and recognizes the excellent work by the team involved.
Pan-Canadian recognition highlights the excellence of an STO employee
An STO employee ranks among the people who stood out for their mass transit expertise, receiving the Individual Leadership Award in the Excellence category given out by the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA).
Danielle Pronovost, a transportation technician and co-ordinator, has worked in bus schedule planning and driver assignment for more than 35 years. An expert in her field, she was recognized for her contribution in implementing and continuously improving different software programs that allow the STO to optimize the levels of service offered for the public.
2011
The STO is recognized at the ATUQ annual conference
The Société de transport de l'Outaouais (STO) was honoured at the annual conference of the Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ) by an award of recognition for its project involving the challenges of accessibility.
With this project, the STO committed to increasing the accessibility of its regular public transit system in order to foster the academic, professional and social integration of disabled persons and to tackle the issue of population aging.
Several employee groups worked together to implement the accessible bus service, which is one of the first steps towards mobility for everyone. The distinction awarded to the teams that worked on the project recognizes their collaboration, competence and professionalism.
2010
Maintenance team honoured by ATUQ
At the annual conference of the Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ), the Maintenance team at the STO was presented with an award of recognition for its innovative maintenance of the air-conditioning systems.
This is a clever project that makes servicing these systems much safer.
STO employee honoured with a national award
The STO was in the national spotlight as Guy Langlois, Assistant Maintenance Director, was honoured at the public transit employee recognition awards given out by the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA).
The award was presented in the Distinguished Service category and is given out each year to individuals who have made a significant contribution to public transit through leadership, workplace improvement initiatives, or policy or legislative initiatives.
2009
Bus driver Luc Champagne honoured by CUTA
Luc Champagne received one of the national public transit employee recognition awards in the Distinguished Service category at the CUTA conference.
This award is presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to public transit through advocacy, leadership, workplace improvement initiatives, or policy or legislative initiatives.
Club Sélect honoured by ATUQ
The STO’s Club Sélect was given the Exceptional Achievement award presented by ATUQ. For the occasion, Richard Beausoleil, Jacques Jolicoeur and Michel Lavoie, drivers and members of Club Sélect’s Gold category, were nominated to collect the award.
Club Sélect aims primarily to recognize bus drivers who have an exemplary driving record of 25 years or more without an avoidable accident.
2008
Robert Lapointe recognized by CUTA
In November 2008, Mr. Lapointe, Assistant Operations Director, was honoured with a Distinguished Service Award from CUTA.
He received this award for his exceptional contribution to public transit over the past 30 years.
ATUQ award for the User’s Guide
The STO receives an award from Centraide Outaouais
The STO received an award of excellence in the Global Support category from Centraide Outaouais in 2008. This honour pays tribute to everyone who makes an ongoing effort to improve the well-being of fellow citizens.
