Take the bus … and save!
To balance your budget … Dare to compare!
The cost of new vehicles has gone up steadily for the last
four or five years. Even when you trade in your old car and
invest some of your savings, you can still be left with monthly
payments of at least $450, without counting the cost of gas,
insurance, repairs and maintenance. According to CAA, the
cost of driving a vehicle is estimated to be about $8,000
a year.

Why not take public transit…?
All the visual, noise and air pollution caused by the many
vehicles on our roads have a harmful effect on our quality
of life and the environment. Public transit riders therefore
contribute to the well-being of the urban environment. Each
bus in service represents 40 to 50 fewer vehicles on our already
crowded roads!
Think about it...
The
cost of using public transit is 10 times lower than the cost
associated with an automobile.

At the very least, why not engage in preventive driving...
meaning that you drive your vehicle to one of the STO's Park-and-Ride
facilities, and then you take the bus to your destination!
At the end of the day, you can then use your car to pick up
the kids from daycare or do some shopping.
You
just need to use your vehicle wisely to limit its negative
impact on the environment and your pocketbook. In addition,
take advantage of our special shuttle services to get to many
events around the city!
The bus is not intended to replace the automobile in society,
but it is a wonderful complement to a car. It is environmentally
friendly and also relaxing, and riding the bus helps you save
money so you can pursue some of your other dreams or leisure
activities!
If you would like to adopt a more economical
and ecological means of travel, take public transit…
it's a smart choice!
